generation of scientists. It is intended as a friendly meeting of colleagues working in
immunology, microbiology, food research and related fields. Apart from the lectures covering
several major links between the immune system, food and microbiota, you can look forward to a poster

Important dates
Registration and abstract submission is open until 10th June 2025 or until the maximum number of participants is reached. Early bird registration closes on 30th April 2025.
The conference is held 16th - 19th June 2025 (Monday-Thursday).
Language
The official language of the conference will be English. All abstract submissions and presentations should be in English.
If you go by car and need to purchase an electronic vignette, the easiest way is use the official web page. The 10 day Electronic vignette costs 290 CZK. Parking in Prague is, however, rather complicated and may be expensive. Check with your hotel for parking arrangements or follow the instructions on the official Prague parking web. You can use a virtual parking meter web tool or app (e.g. Virtuální parkovací hodiny or EasyPark) and a non-official fee map tool to see the types of parking zones (you need to zoom in and then you can see the zones).
Getting around Prague
Prague’s public transport network is one of the best and most affordable in the world. There are three subway lines (A=green, B=yellow, C=red), 35 tram lines and 142 bus lines to get you quickly and reliably to your destination. You can plan your travels around Prague using this official link, multiple mobile phone apps or even Google maps, which works quite well. The public transport stations closest to the venue are tram stations Moráň or Botanická zahrada and Metro (B)/tram station Palackého náměstí.
Letter of Invitation
You can download the conference announcement here. Invitation letters will be provided only to registered participants upon their request.
Liability and insurance
The Conference Secretariat and Organisers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of/damage to private property of participants. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip. The European health insurance card (EHIC) is accepted during admission to hospital and many medical procedures, but it may not cover all expenses, so additional health insurance may be advised.
Registration is now open.
Registration fees:
Conference registration fee for researchers: €350 (€450 after 30/04/2025)
Conference registration fee for students*: €150 (€250 after 30/04/2025)
*Students are defined as all researchers currently pursuing university degree of the 6-8 level according to ISCED 2011 (e.g. MSc., M.D., Ph.D.).
After you have registered for the conference (click on "Register here"), you will receive an automatic message with an overview of your registration data and a pro forma invoice attached. If you would like to change anything on the invoice, please send us an e-mail to info@fmi2025.eu. If you are eligible for the EFIS-EJI travel grant and have registered before 30/04/2025, we will inform you about the bursary and the oral presentation before mid-May.
Cancelation policy
Please inform us about the cancelation by e-mail to info@fmi2025.eu. If you need to cancel your participation before 30/04/2025, we will refund your fee in full (minus any bank charges). If you need to cancel your participation later and someone else is to participate in your place, we can change the name of the presenting author free of charge if they are in the same category (researcher or student), or ask you to refund the remaining amount if they are not in the same category. We have a tight budget to keep fees as low as possible, so we will not refund cancelations received after 11/5/2025.
Poster presentations
Abstracts submitted for FMI2025 will be scheduled for poster
presentation during the Tuesday's and Wednesday's evening poster sessions. The poster boards can accommodate posters of approx. A0 size
(85 x 120 cm) in portrait (vertical) orientation.
Travel grants
The The European Federation of Immunological societies (EFIS) will provide limited number of "EFIS/EJI bursaries" under their scheme of meeting support. The awarded students will be selected based on the quality of their abstracts. All students with active participation are automatically enrolled in this competition.
Names of EFIS/EJI bursaries recipients will be published on this website and their contact details (names, affiliations, email addresses) will be provided to EFIS. Awarded students should bring a valid student card or note from their supervisor/department head or similar proof of their status to the conference. To ensure compliance with GDPR provisions, any student can opt out from this travel grant competition by sending an email to info@fmi2025.eu

Dear friends, dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Czech Immunological Society (CIS), we are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the third Food, Microbiota and immunity in Prague from June 16-19, 2025. Following the success of the first and second conference on "Food, Microbiota and Immunity", this follow-up event is also planned as a small event promoting discussion, networking and knowledge transfer to a new generation of scientists. It is intended as a friendly gathering of colleagues working in the field of immunology, microbiology and food research. Prague is a beautiful city full of historical monuments. And you will be able to experience the historical genius loci first hand, as we have secured a fantastic venue for the conference in the historic building of Emmaus Abbey.
We look forward to meeting you in person in beautiful Prague.

subcutaneous dirofilariosis. Despite being endemic throughout much of Europe, little is known about host humoral immune responses to D. repens. To address this, we analyzed serum immunoglobulin isotypes recognizing D. repens somatic antigens (DrSA) in naturally infected dogs. A total of 149 dogs aged 1–17 years of different breeds and sex, and living in a region endemic for subcutaneous dirofilariosis were included in the study. Titers of anti-DrSA IgG and IgE, but not IgM were significantly higher in infected dogs compared to those that tested PCR negative for D. repens. Moreover, microfilaremic infections were associated with higher levels of DrSA-specific IgG1 than IgG2, while occult infections occurred with significantly higher levels of IgG2 than IgG1. Interestingly, infections in female dogs were primarily occult, and male dogs were predominantly microfilaremic. Ultimately, we provide evidence that anti-DrSA IgG isotype can be used to detect occult subcutaneous dirofilariosis in dogs.
